Aletha Jean Kleine, 85 passed away September 20, 2022. Born June 22, 1937 to Harvey and Clara Elske. She married Elmer Kleine on November 6, 1955 in Western, NE. Together they had seven children.
Aletha enjoyed her years on multiple farmsteads, caring for the animals and beginning a family. She and Elmer loved gardening and continued to take care of a 2000 sq. ft. garden throughout this summer. Aletha canned peaches, pears, beans, potatoes, meat, carrots and Pepe Tomato Juice – just to name a few. Her favorite pastimes include embroidery and making quilts for their kids and grandkids, listening to David Jeremiah on TV, Daniel O’Donnell music, perfecting her delicious recipes, like Aletha’s Famous Potato Salad and Chocolate Meringue Pie and loving her chihuahuas. Aletha had a gentle, loving and nurturing soul, which anyone around her would feel. She loved chatting on the phone and spending time with her family, both near and far.
Aletha is survived by her husband, Elmer; children, Donavon (Sandy), Tonja (Edwin), Kim (Mike), Monte (Deb), Shannon (Craig) and Shawn (Barb). Aletha had 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Aletha was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, LaVonne (Mike) and grandchild, Nathan.
Visitation on Sunday, September 25 th from 1-8pm with family present from 2-4pm at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, 2414 H Street, Fairbury, NE. A Celebration of Aletha’s Life will be at 10am, Monday, September 26 th at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Martin officiating. Burial will follow service at Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Daykin, NE. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Daykin Community Building. Memorials to the Kleine family for future designations.
