Alice Wiedergreen, 62, Fairbury, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 29 at Bryan LGH in Lincoln. She was born in Beatrice, Nebraska on February 7, 1945, to Ervin and Martha Haecker. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church, Plymouth. Alice graduated from Plymouth High School in 1962 and graduated with honors from Fairbury Junior College in 1964.
On October 24, 1964 she married Wayne Wiedergreen at Peace Lutheran Church. They resided on a farm north of Jansen. They were blessed with two sons Robert and Mark. Alice and Wayne farmed until 1984. In 1990, they moved to Fairbury. She was the administrative assistant/ office manager for Tetra Micronutrients in Fairbury for 24 years.
Alice loved to follow the grandchildren's school and athletic activities. She enjoyed cooking and tending her flowers. Alice was a member of American Lutheran Church, active in WELCA and Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and at Peace Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday school for many years as well.
Alice is survived by her husband Wayne, Fairbury; son Mark, Lincoln; son Robert and wife Nancy, Jansen; grandson Craig Wiedergreen, Milford; granddaughter Jessica Wiedergreen, Fairbury; step granddaughter, Andrea Davis and husband Scott, step great grandchildren Kadin, Bryston, Allison and Lily Davis, Fairbury. Also surviving are sisters Elaine Schroeder and husband Wayne, Beatrice; Darlene Meyer, Wymore; Gladys Yost and husband Marvin, Plymouth; Charlotte Molzer and husband Ken, Papillion; Carol Hueske and husband Del, McPherson, KS; Linda Bleich and husband Dale, Hebron; and brothers Dennis Haecker and wife Kathy, Odell; and Randall Haecker, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy Lee; and mother-in-law, Leoda Wiedergreen and brother-in-law, Melvin Meyer.
Memorial services will be held at American Lutheran Church, Fairbury, on Saturday, February 2, at 11:00 a.m. with family prayer service at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Duane Holst will officiate. A memorial has been established to family's choice.
There will be no viewing but friends and relatives may sign the register Friday, February 1, from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, 2414 H. Street in Fairbury.
