Alvin D. Hennerberg of Fairbury, NE. passed away June 7, 2018 in Fairbury. Services will be Monday June 11, 2018 at 2:30 pm at the American Lutheran Church in Fairbury. The family will greet friends Sunday June 10 ^th from 3 to 5 pm at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury.

Alvin Dale Hennerberg 92 of Fairbury, NE. passed away June 7, 2018 at Gardenside LTC in Fairbury. He was born April 19, 1926  at Hollenberg, KS to Rolin & Minnie (Luehring) Hennerberg. Alvin was baptized May 23, 1926 at the Zion State Line Lutheran Church rural Hollenberg, KS. by Pastor Paul Raschbe. He was confirmed on April 21, 1940 at the Zion State Line Lutheran Church rural Hollenberg by R. W. Saubergweiz. His confirmation verse was Isaiah 43: 1. Alvin was a Korean Army Veteran serving February 23 1951 to February 2, 1953. Alvin & Elaine Marilyn Cacek married September 13, 1953 at the First Christian Church of Odell, NE. by Rev. Harvey. Alvin loved farming & taking care of his cattle. In April 2002, he with the help of family & the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife & Parks planted 4,000 trees. For this project he received a Wildlife Habitat conservation award in 2003 and an Agroforestry Award in 2009. He served on church boards, the American Legion, & the Elks Lodge. Alvin was a member of the Zion State Line Lutheran Church of Hollenberg, KS. all his life until 1993 when he joined the American Lutheran Church in Fairbury, NE. Survivors are Son & Daughter-in-law: Gary & LoCinda Hennerberg of Colleyville, TX., Daughters & Sons -in-law: Shirley & Jim Kelsay of Fall City, NE., & Twila & Tracy Scheetz of Fairbury, NE., Grandchildren: Dakota Kelsay, Amanda Kelsay, Amy & husband Andy Whalen, Liza Hennerberg, Britney Scheetz, & Brigham Scheetz. Preceded in death by his Wife Elaine Hennerberg, Parents Rolin & Minnie, Granddaughter Megan Scheetz, Grandson Christopher Scheetz, Brother Lyle Hennerberg.
