Angeline (Angie) Frerichs Weers

Angeline (Angie) Joyce Frerichs Weers was born on July 26th 1942 to Reinhard and Grace (Wallman) Frerichs. She passed away at her home on September 20th, 2015 at the age of 73 years, 1 month, and 24 days.

She attended Rural School Dist #108 through the 8th grade. She then graduated from Beatrice High School in 1959. She was confirmed April 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beatrice. On April 18th, 1965 she married Robert Weers at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beatrice.

The couple moved to the family farm west of Diller and continued to farm. Angie worked with Robert on the farm helping with hogs, driving grain to town at harvest, and cooking many meals. Her greatest joy was the birth of their two sons, Brian Robert and Darin R. Angie never missed an event her boys participated in.

Angie was involved with many organizations including school board, Blue Valley Pork Producers, and served on many committees at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Diller. She was an organist/pianist for 49 years. Her performances included weekly Sunday worship services, several Sunday school Christmas programs, playing for small groups such as the Dels, well over 100 funerals and many weddings. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and having coffee with relatives. Throughout her life she also had part time jobs such as Lily’s Flowers and Gifts and Korbel Drug.

Angie is survived by her husband Robert of 50 fifty years. Sons, Brian and wife Kendra Kay, Darin and wife Kendra, all of Diller, five beloved and cherished grandchildren, Neleigh Angeline, Brianna Kay, Esdon Martin, Joely Adele, and Myleigh Joyce all of Diller. Sisters, Bernice (Sylvester) Ullman of Lincoln, Dorothy (Dale) Schroeder of DeWitt. Dear Friend and soul sister Judy DeBoer of Diller, Brother-in Law, Ronald (Leola) Weers. Sisters –in-Law, Laura Mae Grone all of Diller, and Norma (Eldean) Banahan of Steele City. Aunts, Emmalean Parde, Ethel Wallman, Carmon Frerichs, and Grace Frerichs. Aunt and Uncle, Lawrence and Dora Schoen. Also, many cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Father and Mother-in-Law, Martin and Clara Weers.

Services will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Diller with Pastor Mark Liscom officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Diller and memorials will go to the Family’s Choice. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury.
