Ardys P Schultis

Ardys Pauline (Logan) Schultis, the oldest of 5 children, was born July 14, 1942 to Harold Logan Sr. and Dorothy (Weidauer) Logan at Fairbury, Nebraska.

She attended elementary school at District 32 which was a one room school near their home.  She was a member of the Blue Valley 4-H Club and showed Angus Breeding Heifers which were proudly produced by the family herd known as Blackgates Angus Farm.

She graduated from Diller High School in 1960.  She obtained her Bachelor of Education Degree from Nebraska Wesleyan in 1964.  Ardys taught at Odell, Nebraska for 2 years after graduation from college, then stayed home for a few years and helped with the farm and livestock operation.  In 1977 she began teaching elementary grades at Fairbury, Nebraska.  During this time she obtained her Master of Education Degree from UNL in 1980.  Ardys retired from teaching in May 2007 but never retired and went back to substitute teach for 10 years.

Ardys Logan and Marvin Schultis were united in marriage on July 19, 1964 at Diller, Nebraska.  To this union one son, Ryan Jay was born.  In 1973 sisters Lisa Kay and Tamara Lynn were adopted into the family.

Ardys belonged to the Phi Mu Sorority at Nebraska Wesleyan and to Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority while teaching.

At Grace Lutheran Church she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.  She belonged to LWML, sang in the choir and played the organ for 40 years for church services.

She is survived by her husband Marvin of 53 years, son Ryan (Christena) of Tryon, Nebraska and daughters Lisa of Santa Cruz, CA, Tami Theye of Fairbury, NE, brothers Marshall (Lois) Logan of North Platte, NE, Harold (Suzanne) Logan of Fairbury, NE, sister Gwen (Galen) Frenzen of Fullerton, NE, brother-in-law Donnie Meyer of Diller, NE, brother-in-law Wayne (Linda) Schultis of Fairbury, sisters-in-law Esther Hall of Fairbury, NE and Lorene (Michael) Rhinhart of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Michaela, Jared and Aubrey of Tryon, NE, Kayla Manley and Tara Beu of Lincoln, NE, Tyler Theye of Lincoln, NE and great grandson Aiden Brungardt and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold Sr., and Dorothy Logan, parents-in-law Irvin and Edna Schultis and sister Virginia (Logan) Meyer, brother-in-law Steve Hall and great niece Gracie Schultz.

She had spoken “Jesus has been with me, because I believe he died for my sins, I will have eternal life in heaven.”

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church 1100 “G” Street in Fairbury, NE with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating.  The family will greet friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6-8.  Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX and Grace Lutheran Radio Ministry.  Casual dress is acceptable.
