Arlen Ray Sollenberger II, 96 of Coffeyville, KS passed away January 24, 2021 in Coffeyville. He was born February 29, 1924 to Arlen Ray & Millicent May (Gridley) Sollenberger in Fairbury, NE.
Arlen graduated from Fairbury High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy in the early 1940’s. He married Nyla M. Vinsonhaler on June 19, 1948 in Fairbury. The couple lived in Fairbury for a short time before moving to Fremont, NE and later moving to Coffeyville, KS in December of 1982.
He was a member of the Tyro Christian Church, Tyro, KS. His hobbies included working with electronics; he built TV’s and organs and repaired computers. Arlen worked at the Fairbury Journal, Fremont Tribune and the Coffeyville Journal, where he started as a printer and retired as operations director.
Arlen is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son Arlen Ray III, infant daughter Carolyn, 2 brothers & 2 sisters.
Survivors are children Alice (Gary) Burt of Springfield, MO, Carol (Lowell) Otto of Columbus, NE, and Jon Sollenberger of Coffeyville, KS, 12 Grandchildren & 14 Great-Grandchildren.
