Arlin Edward Bleich passed away on December 21, 2022 at Azria Health in Ashland, Nebraska
after a long struggle with primary cerebral lymphoma. He was 65 years old. Visitation will be
from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in
Fairbury. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace
Lutheran Church, Fairbury, NE with burial at Zion State Line Cemetery following the service.
Arlin was born on March 28, 1957 in Fairbury Nebraska, the 13th of Pete and Emma Bleich’s 14
children. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion State Line Lutheran Church near Hollenberg,
Kansas. After graduating from Diller, NE high school in 1975, Arlin earned an Associate’s degree
in Computer Science from Milford Institute of Technology. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration from Wichita State University and finished his education with
a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. He also took
several Dale Carnegie courses to enhance his work in management and leadership, becoming an
Instructor for those courses.
Arlin’s career included Senior Computer Analyst for DCI in Hutchinson, KS; Senior Project
Manager and consultant for First Data Corp. in Omaha; Senior Project Manager for SIRCO
Associates in Omaha; and Project Program Manager Advisor for NTT Data Services.
Family was a very important part of Arlin’s life. He often said he was a member of the best
family in the world because of his close relationship with his 10 brothers and 3 sisters. He was
always in attendance at family gatherings. He enjoyed the activities of his son and nieces and
nephews; being one of their loyal fans at games and events that included them. He enjoyed
travel and sports activities, especially the Nebraska Huskers and the Indy 500.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and brothers Harold and Jerry Bleich. Survivors
include his son Andrew; brothers George (Cindy), Willis (Carol), Robert (Connie), Ray (Bonnie),
Roy (Barbara), Dale (Linda), Rodney (Barbara) and Larry (Pat) Bleich; sisters Wilma Saathoff,
Alice (Larry) Warnsing and Carolyn (David) Birkman and sister-in-law Sharon Bleich.
Arlin’s family rejoices in his faith in the Christ who says: “Well done thou good and faithful
servant. Enter into the joy of the Lord”. Matthew 25:23
