Arthur William Duitsman

Arthur William Duitsman passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the age of 81 years. He was born in Beatrice, NE to Heye and Grace Duitsman on August 28, 1942.

Arthur married his wife, Janice (James) Duitsman on June 22, 1963. In the years to follow, they welcomed two daughters. After serving seven years in the Nebraska National Guard, he was honorably discharged.

Throughout Arthur’s life, he held many various mechanic positions consisting of working and repairing motorcycles, vehicles, and lawn mowers. He loved spending long days (even nights in his younger years) “out in the garage” fixing anything that was broken.

Arthur is survived by his wife Janice Duitsman, brother Larry Duitsman, daughter Ronda (Tony) Siebe, grandchildren Joshua Duitsman, Shaina (Mac) Henning, Trace Peters, Ashley (Quentin) Cooksley, Megan (Sean) Pratt, and Anna (Parker) Loyd, great-grandchildren Sophia Mients, Emma, Everett, Ezra and Ellison Cooksley, Uriah, Amaurice Henning and Bowen Sturm.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents: Heye and Grace Duitsman, mother/father-in-law Walter & Wilma James and daughter Debra Duitsman (Poley).

Services will be May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Fairbury. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
