Arthur “Art” D. Roskilly, age 82 of Fairbury, Nebraska passed away November 25, 2015 at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. He was born to Rollie Joseph and Tennessee Bell (James) Roskilly on April 16, 1933 at Hill City, Kansas.
“Art” served his country in the Army as a Private from 1953 to 1955. He worked as a Transportation Supervisor for U. S. D. #223, and was a school bus driver for 30 years until he retired in 1996. He was a Volunteer Fireman, city clerk and served on the city council, in Hollenberg, Kansas. He was also a member of the Jefferson County Speedway and Hanover American Legion.
Art is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Royal, Ray, Joseph, sister-in-law Dorothy Roskilly, brother-in-law Louis Nutsch and granddaughter Shawna Jo Edwards.
He is survived by his wife June of Fairbury, daughter Teresa Grover of Salina, KS, son Christopher Roskilly and wife Matasha of Morrowville, KS, grandchildren Nathan, Bella, Brandon, Codie and Skyler, great-grandchildren Haidynn and Konner, sisters June Nutsch, Vola Prellwitz, Zona Quintana and husband Clinton all of Fairbury.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday November 28, 2015 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury, with Darlene Novotny officiating. Burial at the Steele City Cemetery – Steele City , NE. Memorials to the Family’s Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury are in charge of arrangements.
