Barbara Kay Starck

Barbara Kay Starck of Fairbury, NE passed away February 9, 2017 at her home, at the age of 74 years. Barbara was born November 1, 1942 to Harold and Beulah (Drake) Churchill. Barb worked out of high school at the Lynch Clinic in Fairbury until she married Roger Starck of Fairbury on December 2, 1962. To this union two children were born, Terri and Brian. Barb worked for many years alongside of Roger, raising hogs and farming. She spent many hours in a tractor in the spring, or a grain truck in the fall. Many anniversaries were spent in the field during harvest.

Barb enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and babysat them over the years, including the evening before she passed. Her family was the light of her world and she enjoyed sharing pictures and accomplishments with her coffee friends. Barb and Roger were able to enjoy several vacations with friends and always was so glad to spend time with the ones she loved. There will be an empty place in the hearts of many. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairbury where she served many roles over the years.

Barbara is survived by her husband Roger, daughter Terri Black and husband Allan of Fairbury. Grandchildren Amanda and Jared Warnke, Kayla and Tyler Davis, Madison Black, Colton Starck and Kacy Starck. Great grandchildren Keeton and Jaxon Warnke and Kenzie Davis, all of Fairbury. Sister Judy Blunt and husband Marrion of Fairbury, and Sister in law Carol Dobbs and husband Bill of Fairbury. She also leave behind many close family and friends, including friendships of over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Brian Starck.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 13 at 10:30 am at the First United Presbyterian Church in Fairbury. The family will greet family and friends Sunday, February 12 from 5-7 p.m Gerdes Meyer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorial to the Brian Starck Memorial Scholarship.
