Barbara L. Stewart

Barbara Lee (Campbell) Stewart, 85 of Milford, Nebraska was called to her heavenly home January 4, 2021 in Milford. She was born April 1, 1935 to Alfred & Goldie Arylia (Bell) Campbell in Hebron, NE.  Following the sudden death of her mother Goldie, Barbara and her siblings went to live with their Uncle “Jinx” and Aunt Arlene until graduation in May of 1954.

Barbara was united in marriage to Donald Stewart on December 23, 1957 at Fairbury, NE.  Eight children were born to this union.  Barbara and all eight of her children resided in Fairbury.  She raised all eight of her kids while working as a babysitter for the State of Nebraska through the Department of Health and Human Services.

Barbara loved spending time with her grand kids and greats.  She enjoyed doing laundry, watching soap operas, and her pets, which she couldn’t be without.  She took a liking to nature and all living things.  Barbara was the most selfless and nurturing person!  She took care of everyone.

Upon retirement Barbara moved to Geneva, NE and participated in the Foster Grandparent Program.  She enjoyed putting puzzles together and going to the Senior Center to have coffee with a couple of her friends and neighbors.  She also attended church, went to ladies coffee, and other activities at the Senior Center.

Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers Richard Merle, Alfred Leon, and Wilber Eugene, two sisters Bonnie Rea and husband Jack, Carolyn, nephew Stan and beloved son Delbert Joseph.

She is survived by her children William & Lila Stewart and 6 children, Donna & Bill Aude and Donna’s children Allen and Cristy, Bruce & Judy Stewart, Chuck Stewart and his two children, Robin and her four children, Arlene Stewart and her two children, Bobby Stewart and Jackie Davidson and four children and many great-grand-children and one great-great grandchild.

Graveside services will be February 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Road 6100  Hebron, NE. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
