Bonnie Jean Schoenbeck

November 7, 1950 — August 5, 2025

Western

Bonnie J. Schoenbeck, age 74, of Western, Nebraska, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Fairbury, Nebraska. Bonnie was born on November 7, 1950, in Fairbury Nebraska to Adolph and Albina Vacek. She grew up on a farm near Western.

She was united in marriage to Warren Schoenbeck on April 2, 1977, at Zion Lutheran Church of Tobias, where she remained a dedicated member throughout her life. To this union three children were born Andrew, Adam, and Amber.

She graduated from Wilber- Clatonia with the class of 1969. After graduation she briefly worked for Biba Construction, before entering into cosmetology school. She went on to own and operate the Style Iron in Tobias for many years. She also worked alongside her mother at the A and A Bar and Grill. Throughout both of these careers, she was always willing to lend an ear and was known for making everyone feel welcomed.

A woman of deep community spirit, Bonnie generously volunteered her time, for her children’s school and church activities. In addition, she spent countless hours serving with various organizations and communities throughout Saline County.

Bonnie was happiest tending to her flower garden and supporting her beloved “chickadees”—her grandchildren—whom she adored and cheered on in all their pursuits.

She is survived by her husband, Warren; son Andrew (Kelli) Schoenbeck; daughter Amber (Ty) Regnier; daughter in-law Lacey Schoenbeck, brother Adolph Dean (Karen) Vacek; sisters Barb (Eldon) Schwisow, and Betty (Rod) Nickel; Brothers in-law Weldon Schoenbeck, Greg Schoenbeck, Daryl (Pat) Schoenbeck; sisters in-law, Audrey Schoenbeck, Gladys (Daniel) Luebbe; and her cherished grandchildren: Alexus Regnier, Noah Regnier, Kinsey Regnier, Grace Schoenbeck, Charley Schoenbeck, Whitley Regnier, and Addisyn Schoenbeck. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Albina Vacek; parents in-law, Arthur and Lois Schoenbeck; sister Beverly Vacek; son Adam Schoenbeck; and granddaughter Tucker Regnier.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on August 15th at Zion Lutheran Church of Tobias.

She will be remembered for her generosity, her love of family, and the many lives she touched with kindness and care.
