He was lastly stationed in Lincoln where he met Irene Nielsen. He was discharged on August 3 rd , 1962, and a few hours after his discharge he married Irene Ann Nielsen at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lincoln NE. They made their home in Urbana until 1968 when they moved to Nebraska. They lived in Lincoln, Wilber and of late in Daykin NE. He worked at ALPO, now Nestle for many years as a truck driver and then other trucking companies. He made very many friends along the way.
Carl loved his family; he was so proud of all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent time with them whenever possible. He enjoyed spending time with neighbors and friends. Loved watching the Cornhuskers, butter on angel food cake (or anything really), traveling and planning get togethers.

And everyone I love will know exactly who you are
'Cause this is not goodbye, it is just 'til we meet again”
