Carol Brown

Carol Brown, 84 of Fairbury passed away December 30, 2013 at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. She was born October 12, 1929 at Fairbury, NE to Robert and Ruby Bokenkroger Prather. Former Owner Griffeys Steakhouse in Fairbury. She is survived by daughters Sandy Zabokrtsky and husband Doug of Endicott, NE, Shari Hatfield and Teri Cookson of Wichita, KS. A son Dennis Brown and wife Nicole of Fairbury, NE and stepson Scott Brown and wife Shawna of Austin, TX. 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, husband Harley, brothers Dennis and Neil, sister Janice Prather and daughter-in-law Linda Brown. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fairbury with Pastor Karl Lent officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery. Memorials are to the family’s choice. Family will greet friends on Thursday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is charge of arrangements.
