Carole Lee Bender

Carole Lee Bender, age 74 of Steele City Nebraska, died July 17, 2024 at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln Nebraska.  Carole was born September 1, 1949 in St. Louis Missouri, the daughter of Elizabeth (Bette) Mincher and Paul Mincher.  She married James (Jim) Bender on April 13, 1968.
Carole was a veteran of the United States Navy.  She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, visiting with her friends and family and was an avid pet lover.  No one was a stranger to her.
Carole is survived by her children, Lisa Gembala, Brian (Shirley) Bender, James Bender and Candy (John) Madera.  Grandchildren, Lacey (Brad)  Sasse, Gunnar (Sara) Lichty, Gage Gembala.  Trevor Bender, Rachel (Dillon)  Prater and  Alex Bender.  Great Grandchildren include Draedyn and Lakeyn Sasse, Summer and Everleigh Lichty and baby boy Gembala, due in August.
Carole is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Services will be Monday, July 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the Hollenberg Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow in Steele City at the church.
