Cheryl was baptized at the Fairbury Methodist Church June 6, 1952. Cheryl attended Fairbury Public Schools and graduated in 1961. She received her beauticians license from Joseph’s Beauty School and worked at LaVon Napier’s salon until the birth of her daughter.

Cheryl babysat for Jeff Engels children, Emily & Lindsey. She was Godmother to Emily. She loved to collect angels and put puzzles together and cook. Every Christmas she made her specialty “peppernuts” which she shared with her family and friends. Cheryl and Dean went to a lot of auctions and car races. She fished a lot in the river just across the road from their house or in their farm pond. Of course, anything she caught Dean had to clean. She loved watching wildlife and once she saw a cougar just across the road. She loved her cats and was very upset when one came up missing.
Cheryl lived on the farm alone after the death of her husband Jan. 1, 2016 until she moved to Cedarwood in March of 2019. She enjoyed it there as she got to visit with old friends she knew and she especially enjoyed the “whirlpool.” Cheryl was a loving and forgiving person and never had a bad thing to say.
