Christopher John Parker was born to parents Darrell and Kathy Parker on September 4, 1980 and joined his father, Darrell, and grandparents, Lavern Fischer, Clarence Parker, and Maudie Parker in Heaven on November 16, 2021.
Chris was born and raised in Fairbury, NE and attended Fairbury Public Schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Chris was a wizard with a toolkit who could pick up new skills at the drop of a hat. Over the years, he worked for Buehler Plumbing, started his own business - “Chris Parker Septic Service” - and was the Shop Foreman at FPM Metals where he held the unofficial title as “jack of all trades, master of none." Chris also served as a Captain of the Fairbury Rural Volunteer Fire Department. He was passionate about fire safety and was instrumental in relaunching their Fire Prevention program.
Chris was a committed follower of Christ and was dedicated and baptized in the Fairbury Foursquare Church, where he eventually became a member, served on the church council, and proved his unswerving faithfulness through many years of volunteer work as the church’s sound tech. Chris loved serving the Lord, especially as the main chef for Men’s Breakfast and running sound and media for church events, such as summer camps, the annual In-Gathering, gospel sings, and wherever else he was needed. Anyone who knew him could attest to his dependability, generosity, and selflessness: when no one else answered the call for help, Chris was always there.
Along with his servant’s heart, Chris will always be remembered for his whip crack humor and fun-loving spirit. He loved fishing, camping, and engaging in questionable pyrotechnic shenanigans. Above all else, he loved God and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah; his two daughters, Gracie and Melodie; his mother, Kathy Parker; his sisters, Heidi (Eli) Rogers and Michelle (Steven) Novak; grandmother, Ramona Fischer; parents-in-law, David and Marsha Lutze; siblings-in-law, Rebecca (Neil) Stroklund, James (Paula) Lutze, Elizabeth (Doug) Ewoldt, Mary Lutze (fiance Alex), Naomi (Mitchell) Holt; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
