Clarence M. Bartels, age 84, of Fairbury, NE, died August 19, 2006 at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday August 22, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church - Daykin with Pastor Paul Beyer officiating. Burial at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery - Daykin. Memorials to the Family’s Choice in Lieu of flowers.
Clarence was born July 25, 1922 at Covington, OK to William & Dorethea Bartels. He attended Parochial School & graduated from Covington High School. He moved to Nebraska in 1941 with his mother & some of the family. He answered a call to the service of his Country in the U.S. Army, where he served 1 year & 5 days at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & Fort Knox, KY until he received an honorable medical discharge. He then returned home & farmed in the Daykin & Alexandria area. On May 13, 1945 he married Irma Nolte at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Daykin. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church - Daykin and was also a permanent member of the American Legion in Daykin. He loved to play ball and do woodworking in his Wood Shop.
Clarence is survived by his Wife, Irma Bartels, Sons & Wives: Ron & Sheila Bartels, Gene & Elaine Bartels, Daughters-in-law: Thelma Bartels & Rhonda Bartels, Brothers & Wives: Eldo & Laverne Bartels, & Derald & Joan Bartels, Sisters: Vera Thurman, Ada Nolte, & Mildreth Jordening & Husband Norman, Sisters-in-law: Lorna Landkamer, Clara Bartels Verda Uden, Evelyn Nolte, 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. Preceded by parents William & Dorethea Bartels, sons Robert & Jerry, Granddaughter Holly Ann, Brother Reinhold, Sisters Leona Helling & Husband Lawrence, Lorene Swarthout, Evelyn Dougherty & Husband Oscar, Sister Berniece Wyssman, & Husband Eldo.
