Connie Marie Bleich

March 8, 1944 — December 6, 2023

Connie Marie (Meyer) Bleich was born on March 8th 1944, daughter of Benjamin and Marie Meyer. She died on December 6, 2023 peacefully at Heritage Care Center surrounded by family. She was born at Fairbury hospital and baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was confirmed
at Cub Creek Church, North of Jansen. She was raised and lived in the Jansen area her entire life.

She was married to Robert Bleich on April 18th, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury. To this union four children were born, Denise, Duane, Jennifer, and stillborn infant son. She was a stay at home Mother and babysitter for twenty-five years.

Survived by her husband Robert, daughters Denise Bleich-Pahl and Jennifer (Kevin) Scowden.
The people in her life that brought her the most joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren Caleb (Shannon) Pahl, Conner (Cara) Pahl, Wyatt Schmit, Taylor Wagoner, Payton Wagoner, Asher Pahl, Harper Pahl, Myer Pahl, and Brooks Pahl. Connie was blessed to be married into a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Marie Meyer, her son and his wife Duane (Carrie) Bleich, step-grandson Dylan Lang, and in-laws Pete and Emma Bleich.

Connie enjoyed bus tours, playing cards with their couples card club, and competitive games with kids and grandkids. She had the ability to always win at SNAP, because she was the loudest, not the fastest. The couple valued time with family. It was very common for them on
Sunday afternoons to play cards and have get-togethers with siblings. Connie was an excellent cook. She often had requests to make meatloaf, cheesy potatoes, meatballs, and crescent bars to name a few. She always made malts for the Grandkids, but you always made sure your order was in because the kitchen closed at 9 PM. She had a great sense of humor, often with a quick witted comment followed by a wink and that Connie smile. She always saved a good eye roll for her husband’s dry sense of humor.

Through all of Mom’s health issues she always maintained a positive outlook on life, believing everything was going to be okay. She has alway been faithful as demonstrated by her devotion and involvement at Trinity Lutheran in Jansen and Grace Lutheran in Fairbury.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Dec 11, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church at 11AM, followed by lunch and committal at Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
