I was born November 25, 1924 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Fred H. Brinkman and Ida Faye Nielsen Brinkman. I was the only child born to this union. I was raised on our farm northeast of Fairbury, Nebraska where I attended school district #65 (Grandy School). I graduated from Fairbury High School in 1941 and then attended Fairbury Junior College, graduating in 1943, after which I attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
I later returned home and worked on my parents’ farm until October 1947 when I began my employment at the Fairbury State Bank. After working 42 years, I retired at the end of 1989. I am a member of the First Christian Church of Fairbury, having been a member for many years. I am also a member of Fairbury Lodge #35 A.F. & A.M. having served as master during the year of 1975. I was also active in the American Heart Association, Nebraska affiliate, serving as Memorial Gifts Chairman for many years.
I was preceded in death by both my parents. Since I was an only child, I am survived by cousins, Maureen Blair of Oroville, CA, Darla Sellers of Orlando, FL, and Harold Hansen of Clay Center, NE.
