Dale Franklin Dahlheimer died on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the age of 78. He was born to Frank and Bessie (Cook) Dahlheimer on April 13, 1937 in Crawford, Nebraska. Dale married his high school sweetheart, Norma Lambert, in 1955, and together they made a life for themselves in southeast Nebraska, first in Omaha, and then in Lincoln.
Dale had many vocations throughout his life. He was a Lancaster County Sherriff, a Snap-On Tools salesman, and he and Norma owned a convenience store after returning to Crawford. When they retired, they moved to Fairbury, and Dale kept busy doing handyman and “Mr. Fix-It” type jobs, clearing snow, delivering newspapers, and building and flying model airplanes.
Dale is survived by his two daughters, Debra (and Steven) Davis, two grandchildren and one great grandchild, and Peggy (and Doug) Marston, and his sister, Donna Mae (and Willis) Hoffman. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his sister, Marian Roberts.
Services will be at 10:30 am Monday December 14, 2015 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home Chapel in Fairbury, with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Burial is at 11:00 am Tuesday December 15th at the Crawford Cemetery-Crawford, NE. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
