Deborah K. Nispel

Deborah Kay Nispel was born December 16, 1955 and passed away at her home in Garland, TX on April 17, 2020.   The Nispel family welcomed her with love in 1962 when she was 7 years old.  Her parents were Doloris and Carroll “Nip” Nispel of Fairbury.

Deb loved horseback riding , water skiing, swimming, going to the lake house every weekend in the summer and of course, her many friends.  Deb graduated from Fairbury High School and went on to Lincoln School of Commerce where she earned an Executive secretarial degee that took her to Dallas where she worked for a large insurance company for several years.  Deb was married for only 1 week when her husband David was killed in a car accident.  She later married Ricky McQuagge and to this union one child Magan K. was born. The couple later divorced.   Deb fought through many hardships in her life, but at the end she found peace, happiness and a strong inner strength and love from her faith.

Preceding her in death were her her husband David, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and one cousin.  She is survived by daughter Magan of Point, Texas, Sister Joy (and Larry) Gaston of Fairbury, one aunt, Beverly Gibson of Lincoln, several cousins and friends.

There will be a Memorial service Friday, June 26 ^th at Gerdes Meyer Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm followed by internment at the Fairbury Cemetery. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
