Diana Jean Luehring was born on January 7, 1943, in New Braunfels, Texas, the daughter of Dean and Harriet (Dyer) Osher.
She passed away on December 27, 2025, at Jefferson Community Health & Life in Fairbury, Nebraska, surrounded by her family, at the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 20 days.
The Osher family moved several times around the country during Diana’s father’s service in the U.S. Air Force. The family returned to the Midwest, settling in Hebron, Nebraska. Diana graduated in 1961 from Hebron High School, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Donald Gene Luehring. They were united in marriage on September 22, 1963, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, Nebraska.
Diana attended Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, studying to become a nurse. After deciding to change her course of studies, she attended the Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, Nebraska, leading to a lifelong career as a bookkeeper, supporting the family farm and business. She also worked for many years as a seamstress at Swingsters, and upon their closing, she further pursued her career in accounting, graduating with a degree in accounting from Southeast Community College (SCC) in Beatrice, Nebraska.
Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting. She loved to share prayer shawls she hand-knitted with the message of God’s love and care.
Diana was always kind and loving to everyone while extending her happy smile.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Harriet Osher, and her brother, Steve Osher, of Everett, Washington.
Diana is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald, her son, Philip Luehring, and her daughter, Suzanne Luehring, all of Fairbury.
She is also survived by her sister, Carol Patton (Ron), of Stromsburg, Neb., brother, Richard Osher, of Omaha, Neb., sister, Chris Navis (Bill), of Wichita, Kansas, sister-in-law, Betty Osher, of Everett, Washington, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Diana was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Fairbury, Nebraska, where her funeral services will be held.
Please join family and friends at Faith Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, and the funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Lanham Cemetery (St. John Lutheran) in rural Lanham, Kansas.
