Dolores R. Behrends

Dolores Ruth (Ellliott) Behrends, age 90, of Diller, NE went peacefully to her heavenly home on Friday, September 23, 2011 in Lincoln, NE. She was born in Kansas City to Floyd and Lillian Elliott on July 9, 1921. She remained in the area during her childhood, moving to Diller, NE after marrying her husband Bernard in 1943. She resided there with her family for her remaining years.

She is survived by sons Bernard Jr. (Bill) & wife Becky of Odell, NE, David & wife Joyce of Lincoln, NE, Gary of Diller, NE and Bryan & wife Jennifer of Beatrice, NE; daughter Ruth Scheele & husband Garry of Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and many others who called her grandma.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Bernard, beloved daughter-in-law Diane, and sisters Marguerite, Joan and Infant sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Diller, NE with pastors Rev. Dr. Delmar D. Wiemers and Rev. Eliabu Mbasha officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery. A family prayer service will be held prior to the funeral service at 10:15 A.M. at the church. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6-8 P.M. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury, NE. Memorials are to the Prairie Home Cemetery fence fund.
