Dee Swett, 84 of Steele City was born January 20, 1935 to Pat & Lillie "Cook" Swett in Endicott, Nebraska passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019.  He married Marilyn Grone September10, 1955.  To this union 6 children were born.  They lived most of their married life in Steele City, Nebraska.  Dee had been a member of the Steele City Presbyterian Church for 50 years.  Dee farmed most of his life.  He had horses his whole life and his love was breaking and driving them.  He enjoyed trail rides and participated in the Lord's Acre Day Parade many, many years.  He worked at Roode's Packing Plant, drove milk trucks, drove semi's for Eigenberg's, Roelf's and Seibolt's, worked at Bud & Bill's, then Beatrice Concrete until his retirement.  He is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Daniel & Dennis, daughters Gayle, Kay, Shari and Michelle, 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren and sister Utha Furrow.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Gilbert, Max & Kennith.

Services will be Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Steele City Presbyterian Church. The family will greet friends on Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
