Donald Lee Eisenhauer

Donald Eisenhauer, 85, of Lincoln, NE passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Fallbrook Assisted Living and Memory Care in Lincoln.

Don was born August 30, 1939, in Bloomfield, NE, to Arthur and Emma (Gieselman) Eisenhauer. He grew up in the Bloomfield area and joined the U.S. Navy in 1957.  During his three years in service, he served on the USS Navasota (AO-106) and was stationed at a Communications Facility in the Philippines.  Later in life he was in the Naval Reserve and Army National Guard.

He married Mary Staples on December 7, 1963, in Thornton, CO. The couple settled in Bloomfield, NE.  The family moved to Oklahoma in 1978, then to Kansas in 1988.  In 1994 they moved to Fairbury.

Don is survived by children Steven Eisenhauer of Cottage Grove, WI, Jon (Karen) Eisenhauer of Lincoln, NE, Anita Eisenhauer of Milford, CT, Tami Eisenhauer of Omaha, NE, Brad (Billie) Eisenhauer of Plymouth, NE, and Kelli (Mitch) Heidemann of Fairbury, NE. Grandchildren Richard Duenas, Erica Eisenhauer, Kanani Eisenhauer (Jessie Hablitzel), Tyler Eisenhauer, Brooke (Caleb) Vonderfecht, Connor, Natalie, Bridget, and Grant Heidemann, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, parents Arthur and Emma Eisenhauer, sister Melba Eisenhauer, brother Dale Eisenhauer, sisters-in-law Leitha Eisenhauer, Jacqueline Clausen, Connie Staples, brothers-in-law Chester Staples, Cecil Staples and Milo Staples, and daughter-in-law Bernadette Eisenhauer.

Services will be Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2pm at Gerdes Meyer Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 5-7pm, Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Gerdes Meyer Funeral Home.
