Doris Ann Daniels was born on March 23, 1944, in York, Nebraska, to Dietrich D. & Viola (Epp) Quiring. She passed away on December 25, 2025, at her home in Alexandria, Nebraska, at the age of 81.
Doris grew up in the York / Henderson area, and was baptized at the age of 17 at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1962, and then went on to obtain her Secretary’s certificate. Later in life, Doris moved back to Henderson to care for her dad, and the moved to the farm near Fairbury after his passing.
Doris tended to the garden and the animals, and spent time baking. She would have her children pick wild plums and would make jellies. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the organ. The family then moved to Alexandria in 2002. She enjoyed visiting with friends at her home over coffee for hours at a time. She also did volunteer work at the local food bank twice a month and would take stuff home for the ones who couldn't make it there. She was always trying to help anyone she could and would help anyone in need, she wouldn’t turn anyone away. She was a caring, and compassionate person. She had a lot of love for all her kids and grandkids, and enjoyed sneaking goodies to her grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents Dietrich and Viola, husband Robert Woods, Sr., in 1992, sister Maxine Pringle, and nephews Jeff and Donald Quiring.
She is survived by her children; daughters Rhonda Morris (Allen), Lisa Meyer (Cody), Ashley Woods-Rios (Rene Rios), Nicole Fushia (Ryan), and son Robert Woods Jr., (Maryann Flinn). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Bowers, Jr., Cyndi Kimball, Cody Bowers, Hadden Woods, Daylin Woods, Braxton Fushia, Dillon Fushia, Maggie Fushia, Logan Fushia, Corbin Rios, Colton McKenzie, Emma Rios, and Rylee Woods; great-grandchildren Katharina Coggins and James Campbell; her brothers Donald Quiring, Sr., Stanley Quiring (Darlene), and Marvin Quiring; her sisters Beverley Anderson and Janet Kellerman; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury, burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Fairbury. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.
