Doris E. Graham

Doris Emma Graham passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 21, 2018 in her home at the age of 93.  Doris was born on May 29, 1924 to Edward Peters and Tiny Pearl Campbell in Burlington, Colorado.  She married Jessie D. Graham on January 18, 1947.  Doris and Jessie had three daughters.

Doris worked fashion for many years at J.M McDonald’s in Fairbury.  She also enjoyed working as a waitress at Hand’s Bluebird Café, The Elks, and the Stable.

Doris had an indomitable spirit and was so passionate in all that she did.  She made many beautiful quilts, and loved her garden each year and all of its bounty.   She had a very caring attitude, and was so very kind.  She loved life to the fullest—and always wanted to do more.   She was unstoppable!

Doris is survived by her daughters: Beverly Nitti, Jessie Javorsky, and Kathleen Graham, son-in-law: Joseph Nitti, her four grandchildren Douglas Graham, Jeff Javorsky, Yvette Nitti and Michael Nitti, and her six great grandchildren, Zoie Graham, McKenzi Graham, Jett Graham, Bentley Javorsky, Chandler Gaspar and Penelope Nitti.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse D. Graham, sister Lucille Peperkorn and brother Harold Peters.

Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by Doris are invited to the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home on Monday, March 26 from 7pm to 9pm to reminisce, grieve and support each other, and of course, celebrate her life.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Fairbury.   Lana Likens will officiate.
