Dorothy H Hoops

Dorothy H. Hoops 81, passed away on March 28, 2025.  Dorothy was born April 12, 1943 to Walter and Hulda (Grabau) Kuhlmann in Chester Nebraska.

Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Chester Nebraska.

She married the love of her life Larry Hoops.  Together they spent many years in Morro Bay, California.  After Larry's death, she moved back to Nebraska and made Fairbury her home.

Dorothy worked 11 years at the Fairbury Walmart.  She worked at the Blue Rivers Fairbury Senior Center 6 years, before retiring on January 31, 2025.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Larry Hoops (2007), her parents Walter and Hulda, and brothers, Dale, Marvin, Harland and Paul, sisters-in-laws Jean and Donna.

Dorothy is survived by nephews Mac Kuhlmann of Colorado, Mike Kuhlmann of Texas, Brent Kuhlmann of Missouri, nieces Trish Byrne of Colorado and Karen Averitt of Missouri.  Sister-in-Law Ellie Kuhlmann of Omaha Nebraska and a host of friends and special friends Brenda and Randy.

Graveside services will be held April 11th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Fairbury Cemetery, Fairbury Nebraska, with Pastor Glenn Emery of Grace Lutheran Church Officiating.  A luncheon is to follow for fellowship at Grace Lutheran Church.  Memorials have been established to Family's Choice.
