Edgar Kugel

Edgar H. Kugel, age 88 of Fairbury, Nebraska died on February 12, 2008 in Fairbury. He was born January 19, 1920 at Daykin, Nebraska the son of Henry and Elsie Bringewatt Kugel. He was a WW2 veteran having served in the U.S. Army and received the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife Doris Kugel of Fairbury, daughters Lois Pohlmann and husband Gale of Plymouth, Nebraska, LaJeanne Haecker and friend Curt Bohlmeyer of Beatrice, Nebraska, Lynne Blackwell and husband Dude of Fairbury, grandchildren Amy Schwamberger and husband George of Amboy, IL., Chad Pohlmann and friend Darcy Mueller of Plymouth, Brent Pohlmann of Hastings, Nebraska, Jesse Haecker of Elkhart, IA., Mikhaela Craig and husband Heath of Wakefield, Kansas, Jael Haecker of Lafayette, CO., Matthea Haecker of Plymouth, Jenna Haecker of Plymouth, Jeffrey Blackwell of Omaha, Nebraska, Jared Blackwell of Fairbury, great-grandchildren Kelton Schwamberger, Micah Pohlmann, Lukas Pohlmann, Gracee Pohlmann, Brooks Craig, Boston Craig, brother Marvin Kugel and wife Delores of Fairbury, sisters-in-law Minnie Scheele of Fairbury, Darlene Schweer of Daykin, Eleanor Schwan of DeWitt, Nebraska, Irene Marschman of Marysville, Kansas, Deloris Marschman of Fairbury and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry, Wayne and Loren and sisters Lenora, Margaret and LaVerne.

Services will be on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at 1:45 p.m. at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln with military rites. Memorials are to the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury. Family will greet friends on Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury.
