Elaine Hahn, 96, of Fairbury, NE died at Heritage Care Center of Fairbury, surrounded by her family. She was born November 12, 1927, to Owen and Ruby (McCord) Snyder in rural Fairbury.
She taught school west of Plymouth, where she met her husband, Dale. They married June 10th, 1949, and moved west of Jansen.
Family was very important to Elaine. She loved working outside, raising strawberries, gardening, and pulling weeds.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury. Elaine’s faith was a strong influence in her life and was reflected in the kindness and warmth that she extended to everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents, Ruby & Owen, brother John Snyder, sister Suzaine Roelfs, brothers-in-law Dean, Don Hahn, Jerry Littell & Dale Roelfs.
Elaine is survived by son Scott Hahn (Cindy), Leta Mau (Jeff Lichty) of Fairbury and 4 grandchildren Jasmine Slezak (Shane), Lindy Wood (Justin), Brandee Goosman (Jim), Jackie Hahn and 8 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Marilyn Snyder, Eldean Robertson, Delores Hahn & Shirley Littell.
There will be viewing and signing Elaine’s book on Sunday, March 3rd, from 1 – 8 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home.
Services will be Monday, March 4, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury with Pastor Glen Emery officiating. Pallbearers will be Andy Snyder, Danny Roelfs, Rick Robertson, Stacy Hahn, Ryan Strunk and Jon Strunk. Honorary Bearers will be Noah Bradley, Lily Jeffries, Riley, Mason, Jaret &Treston Wood and Trace & Ella Goosman. Everyone is invited to lunch after interment.
Grandma will always be remembered by saying “see you in the funny papers”.
