Edward Free 93 of Fairbury, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Gardenside Long Term Care in Fairbury. He was born July 26, 1919 at Ruskin, NE to John and Anna Meyer Free. WWII Army Veteran. He is survived by a granddaughter Jessica Hostetler and husband Chris of Overland Park, KS, a step grandson Michael Gapp and wife Tiffany of McCook, NE. a sister Elvera Olson and husband Dale of Fairbury, NE. Great grandchildren Rachel and Elizabeth Hostetler and step great grandchildren Samantha and Sheridan Gapp. He was preceded in death by parents, wives Wilma and Viola, brothers Raymond and Melvin, sisters Elda and Gladys and a son Duane. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury, with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fairbury. Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church. Family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 on Monday at the funeral home. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
