Edward Ernest Pavlik was born in Odell, Nebraska on June 22, 1931 to Frank and Vlasta Pavlik. He was the fourth of five siblings, three sisters and one brother. Ed lived his entire life in the Odell area before moving to Beatrice in 2014. He attended and graduated from Odell High School in 1948.
Ed joined the army and served for two years in Germany during the Korean War. He also taught in a country school for two years. Ed spent most of his working years at the Odell Co-op Elevator and came out of retirement to serve as manager of the Blue Springs Co-op Elevator.
On August 15, 1965, he married Maureen Leseberg. They are the proud parents of three children: Judy, John, and Jerry. They are blessed to have three grandchildren: Cade, Halle, and Jase.
For over 60 years Ed has been an active member of the American Legion. He also bowled for many years. Ed was a big Husker fan and especially enjoyed Nebraska football and baseball. He and Maureen loved to spend time with their children and grandchildren attending as many of their activities as they could. They also enjoyed taking the trip of lifetime to Alaska and spending a few months in Port Aransas, Texas. Ed was an active member of the Odell United Methodist Church. He loved singing the hymns in church.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Vlasta, and his wife, Maureen. He is survived by his children, Judy and husband Hugo of Omaha, John of Blue Springs, and Jerry, his wife Amy and three children: Cade, Halle, and Jase of Topeka. Ed also has a brother, George of Beatrice and three sisters, Helen Vetrovsky, Ella Klaus, and Evelyn McKeever who are in the Beatrice area as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday December 1, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Odell with Pastor Curt Magelky officiating. Public viewing will be from 1 to 9 pm Wed. November 30th at Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell. The family will greet friends Wednesday November 30th from 6 to 8 at Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell. Burial at the Odell Czech Cemetery-Odell, NE. Memorials to the Odell United Methodist Church or Odell American Legion. Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell is in charge of arrangements.
