Emilie Marie Hajek, age 97 of Beatrice formerly of Odell, died on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Home in Beatrice. She was born on June 26, 1909 at Milligan, Nebraska the daughter of Frank and Cecilia Vitak Rut. She and her husband Frank raised their family in the Odell area.
Survivors include: daughter Dorothy and husband Kenneth Grell of Blue Springs, NE., son Francis and wife Gretchen Hajek of Lawton, Oklahoma, daughter-in-law Ellen Hajek of Golden, CO., sisters Alice Schielke of Western, NE., Helen Suda of Milligan, NE., and Marie Bright of Bolivar, MO., brother-in-law John and wife Marie Hajek of Beatrice, sisters-in-law Sophia Rut of Crete, NE., Mildred Rut of Fairmont, NE., and Jerry (this is correct spelling) Rut of Friend, NE., 5 grandchildren, Mary and husband Bob Huggenberger of Lincoln, NE., Father Loras Grell of Lawrence, NE., Mark Grell of Lincoln, NE., Michael Hajek of Golden, CO., and Angela and husband Michael Welliver of Stillwater, OK., and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, son Stanley, brothers Francis, James and Ervin and sister Agnes.
Services: Vigil-Wake Service will be on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at the Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beatrice. Burial will be in the Odell Czech Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell.
