Emily Lily Anna (Schardt) Siebenneicher 91, of rural Gilead, NE, passed away July 9, 2017 at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. She was born to Henry C. & Emilie (Albrecht) Schardt December 12, 1925 at home south of Carleton, NE.
She was baptized and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, (Friedensau) NE. In 1947 she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Gladstone. In 1965 she became a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury until her death.
Emily attended Grade School at Trinity Lutheran North School (Friedensau) NE, and attended Carleton High School for 2 years. She graduated from Deshler High School in 1944.
She worked for Henderson Ford Motor Co. from 1944-1947 and Blue Valley Nursing Home from 1986 – 1992. Emily was active in several clubs including Gilead Variety Club, LWML of Grace Lutheran, Hannah Circle at Grace Lutheran, Rock Creek Quilters Guild, Legion Auxiliary 180 of Hebron, VFW of Hebron and Feeders Auxiliary of Hebron.
On June 15, 1947 Emily married Wayne J. Siebenneicher at Trinity Lutheran Church (Friedensau), NE. To this union 4 children were born; Linda Marie, Connie Jean, Wesley Wayne, and Judith Ann.
Emily is survived by her children Linda (Larry) Mitchell of Hebron, Connie (Larry) Hineline of Omaha, Wesley (Lori) Siebenneicher of Gilead and Judy (Steve) Zimmerman of Fairbury, grandchildren Sherri Sehr of Omaha, Christy (Jerod) Nikkel of Sioux City, IA, Tiffany (Andrew) Foxhoven of Omaha, Zebadiah (Randi) Zimmerman of Fairbury, Emily Zimmerman of Wichita, KS, great-grandchildren Sophia & Samuel Johnson, Dylan, Allison & Drew Foxhoven, Dakota Zimmerman, Caleb (Tiffany) Mitchell, great-great-grandchildren Brooke, Greg & William Mitchell, sisters Florence Eickmann, Francis Ritterling and Mildred (Elmer) Holtzen.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Siebenneicher, her parents Henry C. & Emilie Schardt, parents-in-law John & Viola Siebenneicher, brothers, Edgar, Paul & Leonard Schardt, sisters Irma Ohlrich, Valora Wurtz & Lorine Rupprecht, brothers-in-law Lawrence Ohlrich, Lawrence Ritterling, Reuben Rupprecht, Stan Koop, Herman Wurtz, Delmar Eickmann, sisters-in-law Grace, Viola, Alice and Vera Schardt, Maxine Koop, step grand-children Greg & Allan Mitchell.
Services will be Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 7 – 9. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery with memorials to the Family’s Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
