Emily Lin Goodell

Emily Lin Joyce Ford Goodell of Lincoln, Nebraska, was born Oct. 30, 1999, in Fairbury, Nebraska, to Lisa Ann Trisler and Randal Eugene Ford. She lost her life as a victim of domestic violence in the early morning hours of June 4, 2023.

Her children were her life, and she was a phenomenal mother. She was a friend to everyone, with a smile that lit up the room. Emily had a warrior spirit, overcoming many obstacles in her short life. She never let those setbacks stop her from doing anything. She loved fiercely and deeply. Her family and friends are now left with a void that is simply immeasurable. Everyone in her community benefited from her generous spirit and resiliency. She spared no kindness when it came to helping others in need. She was known for creating unique customized gifts for everyone she loved.

Survivors include her children, Rex lll, "Rexy," and Aria Bella Goodell of Lincoln; her mother, Lisa, and significant other, Dave Williams, both of Fairbury; father, Randy of Beatrice; sister, Jessica Percival of Lincoln; grandparents, Linda McMurphy of Fairbury, and Ross Beagle of Eureka, Mont.; mother-in-law, Lisa Wheeler of Lincoln; uncles and aunts: Lyle and Lori Trisler of Wymore; Lance and Lani Cline of Beatrice; Jeremy and Libby Elder of Lincoln; Brandy Hahn of Great Falls, Mont.; Jason and Crystal Ash of Great Falls, Mont.; numerous cousins, in-laws; two nieces and a nephew; step-family members, Sonja and Stephen Peetz of Wahoo, Neb., Bryanna and Sean Landkamer of Lincoln, Brendon and Jamey Arena of Brainard, Neb., and Shannon and Jessica Arena of Seward; and countless friends.

Preceded in death by her grandfather, Leland Trisler and grandmother, Carolyn McConnell. Cremation has taken place.

Celebration of Life will be Friday, June 23, at 1:00 p.m., at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, 2414 H Street, Fairbury. Memorials will go to The Emily Ford Goodell Freefunder.com website or to the funeral home. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
