Eugene E. Siemsen

Eugene E. Siemsen, 88, of rural Fairbury, Nebraska, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017. He was born in Thompson, Nebraska on January 7, 1929 to Rudolf and Marie (Zierenberg) Siemsen.

He was baptized February 24, 1929, confirmed in the faith May 24, 1942, and was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fairbury.

He graduated from Reynolds High School in 1946. He served in the Army National Guard of Nebraska from 1950 to 1956.
On February 28, 1954, he married Clarice Ann Goebel. They were the parents of three children, Shari, Steven & Lisa.

He was a farmer and the farmstead where he lived for more than 60 years earned a Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award.
He also worked as a cabinetmaker for Fairbury Planing Mill and E.B.S. Construction. He retired one month before his 80th birthday.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and good friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dwaine and Walter.

Surviving are his wife, Clarice, daughter Shari Stelling (Dwight), son Steve Siemsen (Jolene), daughter Lisa Stallings (Tim) and two grandchildren Jacob Stallings and Alicia Stallings.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Fairbury, on March 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Gladstone. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
