Faye H. Seifert

May 30, 1942 — July 16, 2014

Faye H. Seifert 72, of Ashland, Nebraska, formerly of Fairbury, died July 16, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born May 30, 1942 to Clifford Marion and Mabel Faye (Snyder) Williams in Fairbury.

Faye was a happy person that would always chat with everyone. Most people remember her riding her bike around town to get around. She would make friends with anyone anywhere if she could. She always looked at everyone with a kind heart. She looked at things in a simple way and never knew another way to look at things or people.

Faye loved her mother and both of her brothers very much. When her mother passed away several years ago, she was lost without her. She was always talking about how she missed her and loved her. Once the sickness of dementia started taking her mind, her coping mechanism was to remember the happy times when she was younger, like when she and Mable used to drive a horse and buggy into town. Many times she would talk about the time that the horses, even in a blizzard, would be able to find their way home through the snow, even though they could not see. A lot of times she used this as an example of her unwavering faith. She never had any doubt in her faith in God. She still has her bible that she received when she was 10 years old, and read it often.

Janice, her roommate at the nursing home and some of the nurses fell in love with her, because she freely gave them her love. She would chat away all the time with her roommate and the nurses. They all said they will miss her very much.

Faye is survived by her son Tony of Lincoln, her grandchildren Sam Smith, Zoe Smith and Dustin Seifert, brother, Robert Williams and wife Rayetta of Columbus, Nebraska and brother Dick Williams of Fairbury.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Seifert, and daughters Betty Seifert and Mary Seifert.
