Frederick W. Eggert 79, passed away October 18, 2014 at home. He was born June 29, 1935 in rural Beatrice to Carl and Margaretha Eggert.
He was confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Wymore. He joined the Air Force in 1952 and served his country for 23 years. After retirement, he became a guard for the California Dept. of Corrections.
Fred is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Dee), daughters Karen Watson, Sharon Warren, Brenda and husband Billie Byrd, Rhonda, Teresa, and Jamie and husband Jeremy, sisters Eleanora and husband Marvin Rempel, Bernadine Harrison and Marjorie Harms, sister-in-law Sharon Eggert, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Leona, sisters Anna Bartels, Velma Parde, Jerllean Bartels, Louise Maguire, brothers Harm and Norman Eggert, 5 brother-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Gerdes-Meyer Chapel in Fairbury with Pastor Brian Julin-McCleary officiating. He was buried at the Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs, Nebraska. Memorials have been established to Aseracare and AC119 Gunship Association. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
