Frederick (Freddie) H. Achtemeier

Frederick (Freddie) H. Achtemeier, nearly 78 years of age, of Harbine, Nebraska, died June 3, 2023, at the Gardenside Nursing Home in Fairbury, Nebraska.  He was born June 13, 1945, to Ralph and Doris Achtemeier.

Fred graduated from Diller High School in 1963. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.  He was a farmer in the Diller area his entire life.

He is survived by a community of relatives and friends, including Kimberly (Mike) Haywood of Elkhorn, Kristine (Shaun) Tevis of Gretna, Justin Hess of Gretna, and Jan Hess, Omaha.  In addition, he is survived by his sister Karen (Roger) Huls of Sterling, brother Robert (Diana) Achtemeier of Gering, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Freddie will be greatly missed. He enjoyed living on the farm and taking care of his cattle.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Har-Bar in Harbine.
