Garrett A Klipp

September 12, 2000 — March 17, 2019

Garrett Anthony Klipp, Tobias, Nebraska, was called home to our Lord on March 17, 2019 at the age of 18.

He was born on September 12, 2000 in Geneva, Nebraska to Anthony “Andy” and Mandy (Goeckel) Klipp and baptized on October 1, 2000 and confirmed on March 28, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church of Tobias.  Garrett attended Zion Lutheran School, Meridian High School and had future plans to attend Northeast Community College, Norfolk, Nebraska, studying Precision Agriculture.

At a young age, Garrett had a desire to help on the farm, and loved a challenge to build or fix things. As most boys on the farms, he loved being around tractors, trucks, and riding in combines, and was so excited to learn to drive them, and eventually becoming an extra farm-hand for his family and friends. In grade school he learned the skill of welding and was able to build many art projects at Zion and eventually graduating to bigger projects such as cow sheds, feedlot fence and more detailed art from his plasma cutter.  Garrett also enjoyed caring for his small herd of red angus cows and helping other family members care for their livestock. He also enjoyed having his friends, girlfriend and sister around to help with his chores. Garrett was also proud to be a part of his high school’s FFA chapter and being an officer.

From playing catch at t-ball games in Western, to putting a helmet on for the first time in midget football, to getting to play with the big kids in basketball games at Zion, he found love in sports. Garrett loved being a part of his high school teams and playing against many local schools. He was a starter all four years in football, basketball and was a member of the track and field team.  Garrett loved practicing and competing with his teammates.  He worked hard and became a great leader and always wanted success for his whole team and not just himself.

When Garrett wasn’t in school he loved being around family, spending time with friends or bugging his big sister. He also enjoyed hunting, camping or relaxing at the local rec areas or just driving around.

Garrett was a role model, smart, witty, goofy, generous, laid-back, hard-working, talented all-around person who was part of so many lives and loved beyond measures.

Garrett was preceded in death by great-grandparents William and Louise Klipp, Ludgwig Pralle, Maurice & Dolores Goeckel. He will forever be remembered by his parents Andy & Mandy; sister Allison Marie Klipp; grandparents Norbert & Arlyce Klipp and James & Pamela Goeckel; aunts and uncles Timothy (Jenny) Klipp, Becky (Greg) Ohlson, Andrea (Clayton) Ohlde, Jessica (Jon) Penner, Nicole (Jay) Kearn; cousins, Trevor, Taylor, Jacob & Katelyn Klipp; Sam & Anna Ohlson; Deavon & Ian Ohlde; Gus, Matthew & Ellie Jo Penner; Carson, Emerson & Aubrie Kearn; great-grandparents, Harold & Gertrude Endorf; Verda Pralle and by many other family members and friends.
