Gary D. Armstrong

September 21, 1949 — December 11, 2022

Gary D. Armstrong, born in Odell Nebraska in 1949, was the son of the late of Dale and Betty (Goodell) Armstrong and was the older brother of the late Robert Armstrong. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 11th at the age of 73.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna Armstrong two sons: Jeffery Armstrong of Dallas, TX and Brad Armstrong of Lincoln, NE (wife Nicole and daughters Addison and Olivia and son Camden); as well as his cousins Robin Moody and Robert Dorn, AZ.

He was a 1967 graduate of Odell High School. On December 9th, 1972, he was united in marriage to Dianna Fontenot after meeting while serving in the US Navy in San Diego, CA. Gary worked for Farmers Union Coop for over 35 years. He retired in 2016. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time in his shop and at his family farm, spending summer weekends fishing and camping at Milford Lake in Wakefield, KS, and watching old westerns. He was happiest staying at home and tending to his yard and garden. Gary will be missed by his morning coffee friends, which he would never miss.

Services will be Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Chapel with Father John Birkel officiating. A Rosary will be held before the service. Casual Dress. In lieu of flowers - memorials will go to the VFW. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
