George Marion Roesler

March 28, 1942 — January 7, 2026

Western

George Roesler passed away peacefully at The Harbor Senior Care assisted living facility in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 7, 2026 surrounded by his family.

George Marion Roesler was born on March 28, 1942, to Henry and Sophia Roesler. He graduated from Tobias Public School in 1960. On February 28, 1964, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Drake at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Together, they were blessed with four children and shared 56 years of marriage.

George retired in 2005 after many years as an air brake man for Burlington Northern. Throughout his working years, he rarely missed his children’s countless ball games and activities. He especially enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping with friends, and taking many road trips to Colorado and South Dakota.

After moving back to Western, George became a familiar and helping presence in the community. If anyone needed work done or a hand to help, he was always there. Even in retirement, he could often be found at a gym or on a field, proudly watching his grandchildren play sports. Laughing with family and friends was always at the top of his list of favorite activities.
