George Schroeder

April 23, 1939 — February 28, 2013

George Edward Schroeder, age 73 passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 due to renal failure. He was born April 23, 1939 in Reynolds, NE to Eldon and Ellen Neemann Schroeder.

George attended and graduated from Fairbury Public Schools. He and Carmen Ehlers united in marriage on February 21, 1961; Just recently celebrated their 52nd year together. To them were born a son, Randy and a daughter Renae.

After graduating from high school, George worked ten years for L.J. Messer Company as a machinist, then went to work for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads and finally retired after 20 years of service for Reinke, Mfg. in Hebron, NE, as a tool and die maker.

In George’s spare time at home, he enjoyed working in his garage, creating wood work projects, fishing and hunting until his health failed.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Ellen. He is survived by: wife, Carmen; son, Randy and daughter, Renae (Randy Folkers); granddaughters, Amie Folkers , Chelsie Schroeder; grandsons, Christopher Schroeder, Hunter Folkers (Amber Folkers), Travis Folkers (Anne Folkers); great grandchildren, Mykal Folkers, Mykah Folkers, Skylar Folkers, Collin Folkers and Connor Folkers; brother, Russell Schroeder (Linda Schroeder)and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2:00 at Faith Lutheran Church in Fairbury, Ne. Officiating the service will be Rev. Ken Hart.
