Gladys L. (Elgert) Byrd 88 of Fairbury, NE., passed away August 7, 2009 at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. She was born September 5, 1920 at Reynolds, NE.

Survivors are Daughter: Janice Embree-Bever & Husband John of Wheat Ridge, CO., Son: Ron Byrd & Wife Nancy of Fairbury, Granchildren: Michelle Scherber & Larry Embree of Wheat Ridge, CO., Adrian Byrd & Ryan Byrd of Lincoln, Great Grandchildren: Allie Webster, Cohner Schult of Wheat Ridge, CO., Kyla & Ty Byrd of Lincoln, Step Grandchildren: Austin Schult of Aurora, CO., Heidi "Mari" Scherber of Wheat Ridge, CO., Sisters: Velma Hammer of Fairbury, Lois Templin of Reynolds, Marjorie Terrill of Fairbury. Preceded by Sons Larry & Bruce Byrd, Husband Laurence Byrd, Parents Henry & Anna (Lottman) Elgert, Brothers Leonard, Fred, Eldon, Walt, Leo, & Harold Elgert, Sisters DeLoris Elgert & Joan Rarick.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday August 10, 2009 at the Presbyterian Church in Fairbury, with Don Canady officiating.
