Harley M. Slater

Our Heavenly Father called his servant home this day July 5th, 2021, from Gold Crest retirement home, Adams, NE. Harley was born in Fairbury, Nebraska on Friday May 7th, 1937, to Luke and Grace Slater. Harley was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette L. Slater, parents Luke and Grace Slater, grandson Joshua A. Slater, great-granddaughter Fiona N. Wilson.

He is survived by his four children: daughter Lori and Jeff Botz Lincoln, NE, son’s Alan and Laura Slater Auburn, NE, Keith and Latona Slater, Pipe Creek, TX, David and Gail Slater Bucklin, Ks. sisters Evelyn and Roland Jacobsen Norton, NE. Sally Slater Ontario, Canada, April and Wayne Weichel Fairbury, NE, Lana and Bill Seeman Liberty, NE, brother Luke Jr. and Jeanne Slater Fairbury, NE.  20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are planned at Gerdes-Meyer for Thursday, July 8th, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials will be determined at a later date. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
