Harold W. Germer

October 2, 1960 — September 11, 2023

Harold W. Germer, 62, of Endicott, Nebraska passed away on September 11, 2023.  Harold was born October 2, 1960 in Fairbury, Nebraska.  He is the oldest of three children born to Harold H. and Shirley (Stelling) Germer.

Harold grew up on the family farm just south of Jansen, Nebraska.  He graduated from Fairbury High School, Class of 1978.  After graduation, Harold worked numerous jobs in manufacturing.  Endicott Clay Products, Plymouth Manufacturing and Vise-Grip were a few of the places where he was employed.  He especially enjoyed working summers at Rock Creek Station where he could be outside.

Outdoors was Harold’s favorite place to be.  He loved capturing pictures of wildlife on the trail cameras scattered across his property.  He taught his nephew everything he needed to know about deer hunting.  Together they would search through the trail camera pictures for the trophy buck and plot their hunting strategy.  Deer hunting won’t be the same without him.

Harold also loved going to auctions and hanging out at the local taverns.  He accumulated a wide assortment of friends from Jansen, Endicott, Steele City and all over.  He would always go out of his way to help a friend.  He will be missed by many.

For quiet entertainment, he spent countless evenings driving around looking for deer.  Harold’s little dog, Rascal, always accompanied him and kept watch.   Rest in peace, Harold and Rascal.  Now you can soar with eagles.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sister, Cheryl (Bob) Marsh of Belvidere, Nebraska and his brother, David (Darla) of Loveland, Colorado.  Nieces and nephews are Michaela (Michael) Houchin of Geneva, Nebraska and Jared (Jayde) Marsh of Belvidere, Nebraska; Kaley Germer and husband, David Thompson of Windsor, Colorado and Dakota Germer of Ault, Colorado.  Great nieces and nephew: Madelyn Ann Houchin, Maddox Jay Houchin and Amaya Lynn Thompson.  He is also survived by numerous cousins, caring neighbors and an abundance of friends.
