Harold Lee Roelfs passed away November 2, 2018 in Beatrice, NE. at Beatrice Health & Rehabilitation. He was born January 18, 1930 at Diller, Nebraska, son of William & Hulda (Hahn) Roelfs. Harold was baptized February 16, 1930 & confirmed April 1, 1945 at Diller St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended Rural school kindergarten – 8 th grade at District 74, & Fairbury & Diller for High School. He was in the Army Reserves for 9 years and Sunday school superintendent for 12 years. Harold was married to Norma Kasparek of Dorchester on August 25, 1957 at Diller St. Paul Lutheran Church. He lived west of Diller, was a farmer. Irrigated for many years, worked in the family blacksmith shop as a mechanic, machinist, made small motors, manufactured diggers, made knives & an airplane display for his 7 year old brother to set in when Harold was 14 years old. In fine arts Harold received awards from the State in Mechanical engineering. He enjoyed his life as a farmer & the cattle. Family was important to him. He enjoyed the grandchildren. Found it important for them to attend church. He had a childlike faith & had a love of music. He liked the military & would have done anything for his country. Two children were born to this union, Lori & Harold Lee, Jr. (deceased). Preceding him in death: infant son, his parents, brothers: Dr. Richard Roelfs & Warren Roelfs, sisters: Esther Heckman & Carolyn Lodhia, brothers-in-law: Henry Heckman & Melvin Zajic. Survived by Wife: Norma, Daughter: Lori Knippelmeyer of Grand Island, Granddaughters: Tiffany Dymek of Lincoln, Jessica Knippelmeyer of Grand Island, Great Granddaughters: Kaitlyn & Brittany Dymek, & Alayna Sekovik of Lincoln, Grandsons: Brian & (Kristen) Knippelmeyer of Crete, Dustin Knippelmeyer  of Lincoln, Brother-in-law: Kanchan Lodhia retired MD of Lawton, OK., Sister-in-law: Arlen Zajic of Seward, many Nieces & Nephews.

Services will be Tuesday November 6, 2018 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home Chapel in Fairbury with Darlene Novotny officiating. Burial at the Fairbury Cemetery - Fairbury, NE. Memorials to the Family's Choice.
