Harold Merlyn Zabel, age 93 of Daykin, passed away on September 22, 2008 in Fairbury. He was born September 26, 1914 at Daykin, Nebraska the son of Lloyd and Winnifred Cox Zabel.

Survivors include his wife Ruby, son Dennis Zabel and wife Rebecca, granddaughter Sara, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Ruth Schmidt and husband Earl

Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury with Pastor Warren Schoming officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery.
