Helen Clara Fegter

Helen Clara Fegter was born April 10, 1928 in rural Deshler Nebraska to Louis and Grace Schultz.  The youngest of 4 children.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler Nebraska.

Helen attended and graduated Deshler High School.  On March 10, 1951, Helen married Virgil Fegter to which 3 children were born.  Michael Steven, Stuart Allen and Sandra Kay.

Helen was a stay at home mom for many years, and also worked as a customer service representative for Sears.  While living in Missouri, the family operated a motel.  Helen also set up auctions for Kettelhut Real Estate.

Helen was also very involved in the Orphan Grain Train and was very passionate about her work with this charity.

Helen is survived by her two children Sandra Kay Aden and Michael Steven Fegter, 9 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

All who met Helen loved her.

Services will be Friday,  April 19, 2024 at 11:00 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury.  Viewing and Signing the book will be Thursday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Funeral home. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
